As an Ontarian, I am highly against removing any and all species and environmental protections. When Ford said he'd "protect Ontario", doesn't that include all the animals and endangered species that live within it as well? Narrowing the scope of an animal's habitat to their nest vs the wider area basically means you'd be eliminating their habitats and much needed foraging areas for these species to thrive. These species and our environment are an important part of our Canadian identity and a source of pride. They also protect us as well by preventing soil erosion and negative environment impacts which would affect construction and development projects down the line. Don't throw that away to shortcut some developmental red tape. There are other ways to go about this. I am highly opposed and disappointed to see this as a proud Canadian.
