Revising the ESA to allow urban sprawl without proper SAR and SWH assessment is wreckless and unnecessary. Building homes is important and a necessity, but it doesnt mean we need to sacrifice proper oversight of species to do so. The ESA has already been weakened by the provincial government. If anything, Ontario should be giving municipalities resources to address locally important species and ensure development can safely occur without destroying habitat and species themselves.
