I strongly oppose Bill 5 and the Ford government’s attempt to fast-track changes that would weaken Ontario’s Endangered Species Act, 2007. This legislation plays a critical role in the province’s most vulnerable wildlife and ecosystems. Diluting these protections to favour development and/or industrial interests puts irreplaceable natural heritage at risk and threatens biodiversity for future generations. The lack of public consultation on such a significant environmental issue is both deeply concerning and irresponsible on the government’s behalf. Ontarian's deserve a transparent, science-based, and democratic process ~ especially when our natural environment is on the line.
