This is not what Canada stands for. I can't believe it's come to this, but surely people are more important than profits. There is a lack of empathy and understanding of the average Ontarian to even propose changes like this. We want land protected, we want promises kept, and ultimately we want BETTER living conditions - impossible if greed motivates small, too quickly built building with little oversight. And better living means more nature as well - we know that nature reduces stress, why are we paving it? Sometimes the things we need are inconvenient.
“Special Economic Zones Act, 2025” could let hand-picked corporations ignore ANY law — including environmental rules, safety standards, and local planning bylaws.
Endangered Species Act repealed and replaced with Species Conservation Act, 2025; a shell law, giving developers an easy path to harm vulnerable wildlife without strong oversight or science-based decision-making.
Eagle’s Nest Mine could move forward in the fragile Ring of Fire without a full environmental assessment — violating promises made to First Nations and threatening vital peatlands that help fight climate change.
