I understand that we need to build more housing fast, but there are plenty of places and ways to do that without weakening protections for endangered species. We're in a major extinction event and losing biodiversity is dangerous for the planet and everyone who lives on it. That is why it's a planetary boundary. This is irresponsible and sneaky to try and push this through while people are distracted with the U.S. tariffs and the Carney-Trump meeting. It's also completely unacceptable to override the rights of indigenous people to have a say in what is being built on their land.
