This bill is irresponsible, evil and goes against all the core principles that I have as a resident of Ontario.

I DO NOT SUPPORT BILL 5.

Yes, economic growth is important in these times. Yes projects need to be built. But NOT at the cost of being responsible stewards of the land we live on. Once an environment is destroyed, there is no easy way to bring it back. Simply removing environmental protections is a counter-intuitive and does not reflect the values that I have, and my desire to keep land intact for future generations.

The various assessments are not mere “red tape”. They force growth to occur in a way that is smarter, so that selfish interests of business (and I’m sad to say, of Doug) don’t have untethered access to destroy things for their own profit. The so called “red tape” keeps business accountable.

Doug won a majority government to stand up against tariffs and protect our economy. He did not win on a campaign to steamroll over protected areas, and the values of Ontarians.

Bill 5 is not right. It is evil towards the environment. Stop Bill 5 and instead act like grownups, and build the economy SMARTER.
