I oppose Bill 5. Shortcuts for industry at the cost of the environment are not only short-sighted—they fly in the face of our Canadian values. If we allow centralized oversight to fall into the same hands that brought us the Greenbelt scandal and the Ontario Place scandal—and don’t even get me started on the Therme contract—we’re complicit in undermining our province.
Mr. Ford, the corruption is on full display. Personally, I don’t care if now and then you give a contract to one of your buddies when the process is open and fair. But you need to stop going out of your way to do things the wrong way and harming the long-term well-being of Ontario to do it.
You were elected to stand up to Trump-style nonsense—not mimic his “drill, baby, drill” garbage.
