Climate change is a considerable risk and the land and species that occupy this land require ongoing enforced protections. Putting economic growth as a consideration diminishes this important protection. The Indigenous people of the treaty land should also be consulted as a requirement. This decision does not honour the spirit and intention of the original policy for protection which was to maintain species integrity regardless of economic needs.
Please ensure this does note forward as it does not honour the land nor the importance of the need to preserve not just species but the land they reside on.
