I am a 70 year resident of Ontario. I own a small country property of which about 7.5 acres have been designated as preserved provincial wetlands. I protect this tiny bit of land zealously.
Your proposed changes to the Endangered Species Act have the potential to decimate the habitat of endangered species all over this province, just like Trump is proposing to do in the USA. And to what end - to line the pockets of developers at the expense of the planet. All government projects which could impact the habitat of local wildlife should be subject to review and input from constituents of Ontario.
Once Trump destroys protected environments in the USA, Canada may be the last bastion of preserved ecosystems for all of North America. For the sake of our children and grandchildren, don't cede power to developers, despite potential, personal short-term gain. The current legislation isn't 'broke', so stop trying to 'fix' it.
