I strongly oppose Bill 5 and the proposed repeal of Ontario’s Endangered Species Act. Weakening science-based protections for at-risk species and habitats puts our province’s biodiversity, climate resilience, and future prosperity at risk.
This bill prioritizes short-term economic interests over the long-term health of our environment and communities, undermines Indigenous rights, and removes essential oversight.
I urge the government to withdraw Bill 5 and instead strengthen protections for Ontario’s endangered species and natural heritage.
