The economy does not need to be unleashed, it needs to be restructured. There is no reason why the economy cannot be developed in an environmentally friendly manner besides arrogance and greed. These attitudes are reflected in the Ford Government which is focused solely on money instead of the future which is obvious in Acts like the one proposed. The environment is what allows our economy to thrive and is essential for mankind's survival. The environmental protections that currently exist are already not enough to ensure this survival. In fact, stricter environmental regulations should be put in place on environmental concerns such as development and pollution. This can be seen in the numerous studies done on both topics in Ontario. Specific to endangered species, they already do not have adequate protections with the other legislations in place. This lack of protection is why the Endangered Species Act was put in place. If the Ford government is allowed to proceed with this uninformed, selfish, and irresponsible Act, these species will be destroyed, and their destruction will bring us yet another step closer to collapse. Please do not allow this Act!
