Hello,
I am opposing bill 5. There are several acres of vacant land across Ontario where infrastructure can be built where the ecosystem of endangered species is not disturbed. This ecosystem cannot simply be relocated as it takes a lifetime for animals and plants to adapt and grow on unfamiliar land even if they are safely removed and adapted to a new habitat. Ontario is known for its diverse wildlife and forestry where people all over the world dream to visit and with bill 5 our tourism industry would be at risk.
In addition, corporations and developers should not be exempt from any laws for their convenience. This shortcut for investors will only encourage the lack of public oversight that will put workers health and safety at risk.
No one should be exempt from the law that are put into place to protect Ontario.
