There should be no removal of the requirements to develop recovery strategies and management plans. The ability to start work before assessment will lead to lack of reporting from developers. The idea of supporting voluntary conservation programs could work but there is not incentive to actually have them happen, so it’s just an empty promise. If there was promised conservation efforts I’d support this, but this is just twisted to seem like species will still be protected.
We are also dealing with crazy amounts of wildlife in urban areas because there has been a lack of planning. The removal will lead to more issues like the increase of coyotes killing pets and putting kids at risk. I understand housing is an issue, but it’s not because of species protection.
