Bill 5 is an affront to science. Politician do not have the expertise to chose which species need protection and how.
The proposal calls scientific checks and balances unnecessary delays when they are the necessary sober second thought controls that are needed to keep development logic based. Developers have only an interest in development, as fast and easy as possible. This approach leaves out all other stake holders and sober thought.
Special economic zones not only dismisses science it also dismisses the knowledge of the true stewards of the land, First Nations. Their knowledge should guide development not be silenced.
Bill 5 is reckless and damaging to eco systems, species at risk and democracy.
