While I understand the necessity to respond to Trump's tariff war and expansionist vision we must not forsake the right of future generations to a healthy environment by pushing headlong without proper environmental assessments. They are there to ensure the delicate balance of nature remains for our grandchildren's grandchildren. We are already witnessing the rapid extinction of species of animals, plants, trees and introduction of invasive species as a result of climate change, as well as catastrophic weather events devastating entire communities. tTo blindly dig up the earth, pollute our waters and destroy environments in a vain effort to ward of a temporary threat from a neighbour to our south, you risk the irreparable destruction of the planet. We did not vote for that.
