I am deeply concerned about the implications of the Protect Ontario by Unleashing Our Economy Act, 2025. While economic development is vital, this proposal appears to prioritize short term economic gains at the expense of long-term environmental sustainability.

Weakening environmental protections, reducing oversight, or fast tracking development without meaningful consultation with Indigenous communities and local stakeholders undermines the very principles of environmental stewardship and democratic governance. Economic growth should not come at the cost of Ontario’s natural heritage, biodiversity, and the health of future generations.

I urge the government to reconsider this approach and instead support policies that promote green innovation, sustainable infrastructure, and climate resilient development. Protecting Ontario means investing in both our economy and our environment, these goals are not mutually exclusive.
