There is absolutely no reason to even table this bill. It is antidemocratic, affecting our indigenous communities the hardest. Ontario is also known for its parks and ecosystems, and fast tracking industrial projects while repealing the endangered species act puts those parks, in addition to the whole of the province in severe danger. Whether it means ecosystem loss and destruction, limited public and indigenous consultation on projects or the public health risks associated with all of this, this bill does nothing for the average Ontarian.
The only individuals this bill serves are the rich, those invested in the destruction of our province—many of whom are not even from here. This bill does nothing to reinforce our province against US tariffs and will only benefit wealthy Americans who could not care less about Ontario or its future. Do better.
