I strongly urge that the establishment for Special Economic Zones to be paused as these will be detrimental to the local community and there is ongoing evidence that the Indigenous communities are not properly consulted. I have just found about the sport of trail runs and learned about transit oriented communities during a Jane's Walk. These are issues and conversations that the local municipalities can understand that the MPPs may not necessarily be able to discuss even with a SEZ.

Some of the development along Seaton Trail the past decade suggests a transit oriented area and good access to the highway. However, this will questionably reduce the quality for those who would like to actually be enjoying the sun and outdoors. I recall that there are various species of birds, and trees along the eastern boundaries of Rouge Park. I would imagine none of us would like a urban heat belt along the Highway 7. I see myself enjoying the travel along the development in a scenic ride, not as a speed way to carry heavy cargo.

In tandem with Bill 5, this will be a of net zero benefit to the communities and towns, and reduces biodiversity, essential for a health of a neighbourhood. I strongly suggest reading from the responses from Toronto Zoo, Ontario Nature, and AMO that have already responded.

I won't be surprised that the current government will likely ignore the broad concensus of reassessing this as a part of Bill 5, as well as the intent to remove environmental protections. I wish all the best on the current government on an actual wise decision.
