At a critical time of the climate crisis with every year being the "hottest on record" and forest fires are destroying communities, we should not be streamlining development without considering the impacts on the environment. We also have a legal obligation to respect Indigenous rights to their land. I hope the government will reconsider this bill and acknowledge the ecosystem services that nature provides to us and that will be hugely impacted if we go ahead with development without considering the ecological, social and economic consequences of these actions.
