Ontario’s reputation as a region of natural beauty, and its ability to sustain a strong, sustainable tourism industry depends on a commitment from the Province to protect the natural environment. Bill 5 significantly weakens the protections afforded to ecosystems at a time when climate change is increasingly adding stress to natural habitat, and removes expert knowledge from the process of determining protections.

Bill 5 should be withdrawn.
