I have read through the proposed changes and think this will be very detrimental to protection of species at risk. I strongly oppose this.

Developers need a clear process beyond “registration” to ensure their developments do not destroy sensitive ecosystems and habitats.

With so many of the world’s species at risk, it is important that the Ontario government work harder to protect threatened species and their habitat.

These decisions should be based on science and not politics. Economic considerations and profit should not trump protections of threatened species. Under no circumstances should the decision to de-list a threatened species be made by politicians.
