It is unconscionable to eliminate the Endangered Species Act. The people of Ontario expect the government to protect endangered species and to protect the environment that helps to preserve all our Ontarios biodiversity. Bill 5 proposes to do the opposite, undermining our ecosystems and abandoning all responsibility to ensure that our biodiversity is valued and protected.
By attacking Ontario's biodiversity, Bill 5 legislation will harm Ontario's economy rather than improve it. Rather than unleashing our economy it will unleash the loss of endanger species and the biodiversity that makes Ontario such a special place.
The people of this Province did not vote for an attack on our biodiversity.
Retain the Endangered Species Act, and withdraw Bill 5 in its entirety.
