Building homes faster and bypassing sustainability and environmental concerns is not protecting Ontario, it's doing the opposite. The practices encouraged through Bill 17 will damage Ontario and create more suffering for citizens when they have to pay more for utilities due to unsustainable building practices and the increase of extreme weather events such as flooding and wildfires (which will come at enormous costs) due to the potential destruction of trees and our natural world. On this basis, I strongly disagree with Bill 17. For our financial welfare and our health and safety, we need to be more sustainable in our building practices.
