As a resident and taxpayer of The Township of West Grey, I strongly oppose allowing Walker aggregates permission to remove a maximum of 2,890,800,000 litres of water, per year, for a maximum of 10 years, from the aquifer at lot 19, concession 5 NDR. This practice would severely and negatively affect all the drinking water wells on the numerous adjoining properties as well as nearby Styx and Saugeen rivers. Also, there are pending applications for gravel pits on two more properties within a kilometre of the above property and if they are successful and if they would be allowed the same permission, it would remove an insane amount of water from the water table. Please DO NOT ALLOW these commercial businesses to devastate this tranquil and rustic rural residential area for the sake of the financial benefit of a very few individuals.
