hi there,
I have lived in Wasaga since right before Covid and unfortunately I think giving the Town of Wasaga Beach these new responsibilities is a bad idea. I have previously worked for the Town of Wasaga in a very informative position (though I wouldn’t call myself a “higher up”). I never expect any council to be perfect, but the hypocrisy and bribes to friends for development this council has is dangerous. As someone who has had information on some of their plans, I also know that for big decisions they sometimes do not have well-thought out plans and choose to execute them, regretting them in the future. There are things that people have knowledge on in this town that are being overlooked. It took them a very long time to understand that there is lots of money in the entertainment industry (something young adults have been telling them for years). I am unsure of how qualified they will be on this. I believe the area that is not theirs right now is beautiful and should be treated with respect. I am afraid that they will eventually choose to tear down a lot of environmental areas there.
