The provincially protected land surrounding the Wasaga Beach, including Nancy Island historical site and the crown-owned lands within Beach 1, 2, New Wasaga and Allenwood Beach are an asset to the Wasaga Beach community. They contribute to the diverse historical and cultural experiences that one can experience when visiting this land. The continued removal of natural land and historical sites from government protection threatens to strip Wasaga of all of it’s value as a tourist destination. I sincerely hope that this brash course of action will be reconsidered things are done that cannot be undone.
I have fond memories of visiting Beach 2 and Nancy Island. Losing these places as they are would be tragic.
