I am horrified that the government is considering taking the Nancy Island space (and Beach areas) in Wasaga Beach for developing.
Without the provinicial park, anyone who does not live right on the lake would never have access to the lake which I think is ridiculous. How can we live on the Great Lakes and deny millions of people access to them.
How can we simply take a place with historic value and dump a fast food restaurant or some other nastiness all over it?
Wasaga Beach is a HUGE attraction for Ontario (and Canada) but not if its not got the beach and river.
Canada / Ontario does not seem to understand the significance of the town, Im not saying it should look like Atlantic City or Santa Monica but its equally as significant as those locations for the people here.
Make it nice, make it accessible to families, not just young adults and it will be a fruitful place for the government and the town. Dont just make it a nasty concrete jungle which only the rich can get to.
Collingwood is already turning into that too.
