As a fairly new resident of Wasaga Beach I'm very pleased with the plans taking shape in Beach 1 &2. I'm in agreement with the proposal of the Town taking over management of the public beaches. I hope significant improvement will be made to the cleanliness of the beach areas. It's not comforting to worry about little children playing in the sand and finding inappropriate materials ( such as feces, remnants of drug paraphenalia and discarded diapers and food). I hope the Town will be able to enforce bylaws for the Beach areas which will ensure public safety, cleanliness and enjoyment for all Beach goers. They should also enforce bylaws against enclosed tents on the beach all of these structures should be completely open on all sides or have transparent sides. This measure would ensure safe conduct for all.
Happy to see the Department of Tourism will take over the Nancy Island historical site. Such a shame that it has been neglected for so long. As a resident living here I have yet to visit this tourist site as it has been closed for safety concerns since we moved here. What an embarrassing situation. Looking forward to visiting it when it re opens.
