The proposed Huron-Superior CA is entirely too large and must be reduced. To amalgamate to a degree makes sense but a geography of that size is simply untenable and local municipalities need oversight and transparency re: the services they are paying for.
Climate change is impacting our communities and will do more so as time progresses: Conservation Authorities provide critical capacity and leadership in the adoption of adaptation and mitigation strategies to address climate change. Leave them small enough to be nimble, responsive to local conditions, have knowledge of local pressures and able to build strong relationships with people on the ground (farmers, landowners, Indigenous Nations, etc).
1) Amalgamate but keep the boundaries reasonable.
2) Do not allow the Huron-Superior CA to proceed as is - that geography requires a minimum of 2 in addition to Lake Superior areas being added to the Northern CA.
