The transports that are currently hauling out of the quarries on B-C are already an issue , we don’t need to add more problems! They speed down the road, drive dangerously, don’t secure their loads and have debris falling off cracking windshields. One of my neighbours has almost been hit several times while out running along the side of the road with haulers that won’t move over. A radar showing your speed has already had to be installed as the truckers don’t respect the speed limits of the road. They want to expand hours as well. There are kids that live on this road. When are they able to ride their bikes without fear of being run off the roads by these big trucks? When are the horseback riders who live on this road going to be able to go for rides without having their horses spooked by the trucks? By increasing the trucks to weekends you will be taking away the communities ability to enjoy what little time there is to be on the roads safely. I will also mention that there have been several trucks in the ditch, a fatal accident just off the concession and trucks continue to pull over on the sides of the roads to park causing the backs to be soft and a passing hazard for locals having to go around them when they are illegally parked. Unless you’re going to invest more money on policing for this road to ensure these issues are addressed I don’t see how adding more hours/trucks to the roads are going to help in any way other than lining the pockets of the quarry corporations and the township. Please think long and hard of the tax paying citizens who reside on this road and in this area. We are already not being respected by the truckers, this will only make things worse for the residents who live here.
