I am against this proposed change.
We have numerous families with small children in this area. We already have enough issues with trucks on this roadway and do not need to increase the amount to allow waste from all of Canada. The road is a small two lane road that cannot handle MORE traffic and trucks.
Our families rely on well water and we don’t need to add any more risk to allow more waste to come in and potentially contaminate our water table. There are concerns that proper protocols aren’t being met already and to allow for more contaminated fill and from all of Canada, I don’t need the health of my children, my family, my own or my neighbours/friends being jeopardized for some company to make more money. They don’t live here to worry about the health or environmental impacts they are creating.
To increase allowance for emergency 24 hour hours will create noise disruption to families in the area. It’s bad enough we already have multiple quarries in this area with trucks driving dangerously - to allow for more would just be reckless and irresponsible to the families who live in this area and rely on the natural resources.
Please do not grant this proposal, our lives and our families and animal lives (numerous farms in the immediate area) depend on it. I can assure you, the ongoing trucking issue is not getting better and I am terrified for the day it takes someone’s life. No more trucks. No more fill. No extended hours.
I suspect these comments and arguments will fall on deaf ears since the government doesn’t care what the us regular family folk want. Only what benefits the companies and the government. You allowed for this in the first place when many families disputed it. Why pretend you care or will listen now?
