A link from the County of Brant along Highway 54 is required to link with Six Nations and Haldimand County. This link would facilitate tourism opportunities with a cultural focus. This would also align with the Grand River which is used extensively as a "Blue Water Trail".
The County of Brant has been working actively with all neighbouring municipalities within the Grand River Watershed to establish a trail route that runs from the Dufferin Highlands to Port Maitland and Lake Erie. A good portion of the trail is established, but further development will be required. Supporting this route for inclusion in the cycling plan will enable the group to work more effectively to deliver a great product. This project aligns well with several RTO initiatives in the region.
