RTO7 is pleased to comment on the proposed Provincial cycling network. We have begun work with the Waterfront Regeneration Trust (WRT) to extend the Great Lakes Waterfront Trail (GLWT) along the Lake Huron coast from Point Clark to Tobermory, down the Bruce Peninsula to Owen Sound and over to Collingwood along the Georgian Bay coastline. The proposed route from Oliphant to Tobermory have been rerouted off of Hwy 6 to follow the Lake Huron Coast line on the west side and on the east side, the proposed route is along the East Road and Bruce Rd 9 to Colpoy's Bay. Additionally, changes have been proposed on the route from Owen Sound to Meaford using the Tom Thomson Trail. It is our recommendation that changes to the provincial cycling network reflect the changes to the proposed GRLT. We are available for additional comment if required.
Thank you,
Kim Clarke Tourism Experience Development Specialist RTO7
