The existing on road route from Confederation Beach Park in Hamilton to Grimsby needs a review. Cyclists - concerns re Safety: unprotected lanes mixed with truck route/heavy vehicular traffic travelling at 80 km/h & multiple crossings into this traffic is hazardous. Other areas thru residential are not most direct route and are not utilized. Alternative direct routes cyclists mixed with ALL other users of the roads since sidewalks are not present creating additional safety hazards. Routes are used by large recreational cycling groups during weekends as well as those using route to travel to and from work either downtown Hamilton or into Burlington. Route is also very poorly lit.
