Softening laws protecting endangered species means that these species are more likely to be wiped from our country forever. If we lose them, we can't bring them back. For example, caribou are endangered and they are a Canadian animal. What am I going to tell my kids in 20 years if they're all gone and they're confused by why we couldn't protect something on our quarter? We cannot destroy our planet for short term economic gain because humanity will live on for a very long time and leaving them a ruined world to cope with is unfair to them.
