The following is an expression of my utter frustration with the failures of all those who seek to dismantle truth and to subsequently deny responsibility.

Without knowing precisely who, how, where and how effective existing data on CO2 emission is collected, collated or managed, it is difficult to make relevant comments on the Provincie of Ontario's proposed amendments.

What I DO know is that continuing to obfuscate, fumble, deny, and abandon the collection of data; allows those we elect to make the necessary and difficult decisions, to waft about in plausible deniability.

It is a criminal dereliction of duty, one that should be prosecuted by those of us who will be struggling to survive the inevitable disastrous consequences our cowardly and malicious officials are busy downloading onto those who have no power to alter fate.

In a functioning democracy one seeks public office not for self aggrandizement or the enrichment of self, friends and backers but for the express purpose of mobilizing and steering civil society, ALL of it, not just the chosen few, along the paths of survival and well being. Too many politicians have either never understood this, or are wilfully ignoring the imperative.

Partisanship - the destructive competition for primacy, will be the proximate cause of collapsing civil society.

What Ontario SHOULD be doing - without question - is to collaborate with all available power structures, public and private, to win this existential battle against human folly and greed. However, humanity has systematically failed to do so throughout its (cosmically speaking) short life span, thus proving that the human evolutionary adventure is a doomed failure. Compared to the age of dinosaurs, the anthropocene has been poor, brutish, nasty and short. Whatever marvellous accomplishments have arisen from the human brain are irrevocably headed toward oblivion and it will not (again in cosmic terms) be long in coming.
