AIM has impacted this neighbourhood more than most residents seem fair. So I think the Ministry needs to hold a community meeting. The residents need to be informed on how the Ministry is protecting this neighbourhood and get feedback from the residents from this impact. They have caused so much noise over the last 5 years that it has become a huge impact on this community. The local Ministry Office says there ECA's are set so they aren't supposed to created more noise levels than those that exist already like the noise caused from Burlington Street. But if we understand this, there limit is set to 65 Decibels, the same as the average road noise during the day time. But they are allowed to continue to operate at 65 decibels yet the road noise drops to below 50 decibels after 6pm. Shouldn't AIM's ECA's also drop to below 50 Decibels after 6pm? This is why the Ministry needs to get the community feedback BEFORE any further allowances are made. Because as a resident of this neighbourhood AIM has been generating far too much noise and should not be allowed to impact this community any further. We understand they are on a industrial Zoned property and the Ministry controls the levels of noise. But we live in a residential Zoned neighbourhood, are we not supposed to be protected FROM The noise caused by the Industrial Zoning? We can't operate a commercial or industrial business in our Residential Neighbourhood, then why is AIM being allowed to override those standards and exceed there ECA's day after day. We thought that the Ministry was supposed to restrain them from exceeding there noise levels or they should be fined. Why hasn't the Ministry employed any of those options when AIM has exceeded it levels for years. AIM employs about 100-120 employees. This Community has over 500 homes with say approx. 3 residents per home (being generous). So is the acceptable ratio of impact 1x job and sacrifice 10x residents for that job? Because that's what it feels like listening the noise pollution generated by AIM and residents have to hide in there homes to try and avoid the noise. AIM has destroyed our quality of life the Ministry needs to correct the balance so we can start enjoying our homes again
