Dear Sir or Madam,
In reviewing the proposal there are some areas to be considered:
- there should be mandatory input and consultation absolutely with Indigenous and with local government representatives regarding any development initiatives being proposed in rural areas.
- there should be consideration that "significant" impact on the environment is not quantifiable and vague - consideration should be regarding anything that "adversely" changes water and air quality and animal habitat.
-there should be mandatory consultation and valued input from Indigenous people, community members and local government representative.
- recreational communities should be designated as protected; they provide economy and jobs for residents as the local population doubles during vacation times. They provide a clean environment for wildlife to flourish, and there are decades of family legacies. These are all valid reasons why this proposal must clearly state the need for local community input, for local political input, and remember that there is massive adverse impact on placing an exploration project in the middle of a region that depends on the increased revenue from vacationers in the area.
Thank you for you time,
Sincerely,
Sandy Watson
