In this era of rapid species extinction and biodiversity loss, all types of environmental protection MUST be increased, not decreased. Many aspects of the Provincial Policy Statement Review – Proposed Policies (PPS) clearly decrease environmental protection, particularly with respect to wetlands and often favouring aggregate extraction and development.

You will have received, or will soon receive, a major submission from Ontario Nature which details the many problems with the PPS. I have thoroughly reviewed this document and agree completely with its conclusions and recommendations. I hope that these concerns will be taken seriously and appropriate changes will be made to the PPS.
