As a representative of a Mining and Exploration company, the company I work for would want to be able to review any permits that are proposed for removing forest resources from a crown forest. Some of our area contain mining leases (also licences of occupation) which still involves crown forest, and these types of lands would be often involved in mine production and development. A permit for another company or person could interfere with our operations, and could be a safety and health risk. As well, it could jeopardize and interfere with our operations of a mine or exploration project.
We would want some kind of approval or consultation before these forest permits are issued to other stakeholders.
