Hello! I am a resident in the neighbouring area of Port Union along the lake, and I find it horrendous that the future development of such a large scale waste processing facility would be done in this day and age in the middle of or in close proximity to an area of natural beauty, along the lake and various creeks, with various trails and communities. It is quite an outdated and narrow-minded mentality. The fact that this has traditionally been a bit of industrial area is a known fact, but that decision came from a time when the city of Toronto was not quite as expansive as it is today. Now, that precious land would be better used in other ways to benefit the communities that are continuing to grow around it, close for commuters to live around and enjoy its natural benefits. To make it a large scale waste processing plant sounds lazy and out of touch with the city's current realities. A more suitable location for a future state of the art facility of this type could surely be found elsewhere in the large province of Ontario, where the 100 or more waste trucks a day would not be passing through communities 24/7/365 non-stop! We definitely have a lot of less useful pieces of land where a facility of this type could thrive and grow. Thank you for your consideration....
