Any changes to the growth plan needs to include changes to key servicing infrastructure. the definition of Green Infrastructure should be specified to mean “technologies that manage the flow of water while using primarily ecological features, such as the creation of urban swamps, wetlands, forests, as being proven to be more efficient at protecting urban settlements from flooding, which preserves the key drivers of the Canadian economy located in GGH”.
This type of infrastructure needs to be given more importance in the Growth Plan, not only to protect Ontario and Canada’s economy long-term from flood risks, but also to improve access to green spaces in our settlements, which is shown to have tremendous health benefits and creates a healthier working class
