Ford continues to ram…

Ford continues to ram through his pro-development agenda to appease his business cronies and systematically dismantle environmental protections. This is egregious enough but to do it in a covert and insidious way by embedding clauses in wider legislation that make it difficult for the public to discern the environmental consequences. Someone should educate the Premier on the value of ecological services that our natural spaces provide i.e. filtration of our water and air, attenuation of floods, critical shrinking habitat (especially in the Golden Horseshoe) for threatened and endangered species, not to mention boosting our emotional and physical well-being. Plans that promote urban sprawl will only exacerbate the climate crisis and make our national goal of reaching net-zero carbon emissions by 2050 increasingly difficult, if not impossible to meet.
