I strongly disagree with the proposed change to allow aggregate operations (e.g. gravel pits) in the habitat of threatened and endangered species throughout the region’s Natural Heritage System. These operations should continue to be restricted to areas where they have lower environmental impact, as per the existing rules. The proposed change would unnecessarily harm the region's biodiversity, which the Natural Heritage System is intended to protect.
