There is no doubt that these pigs are extremely adaptable. I would recommend putting a bounty on them. If the government implements a hunting season, then the government will seek to regulate it. If we are looking to eradicate this species, we need to take action quickly. A bounty would definitely help in this. There are all kinds of history on how unregulated hunting has put several animals close to extinction. The only regulations should be the firearms regulations already in place. Night hunting and the ability to kill these pigs all year long would be extremely helpful. No matter what regulations we implement, these pigs will adapt. So let's be as aggressive as possible.
The government might also think about developing a program for people to donate the meat to those who might be in need of it. Many jurisdictions in the US have several of these types of programs.
