RE: Extend the gun season(s) by 1 or 2 days.
Luckily this won't affect me in WMU 46, and thank goodness. If anything, gun season should be shortened rather than lengthened. This is especially true based on observations from the last 5 years. I’m seeing more and more flagrant violations of the law during gun season. The 2 weeks of gun season is a long enough hell here in Parry Sound. I can’t imagine having to deal with armed trespassers for much longer than that. Or dealing with rifles hanging out the vehicle window driving up and down Blind Bay and Pengally Bay roads. Or the piles of trash left on Crown sites. It’s like gun hunters (not all) are a different breed of hunter all together because I certainly don’t encounter these issues while bow hunting and stopped gun hunting the area in 2016 because it’s a circus now. Forget about extending gun seasons, think about putting more COs in the field. Don’t waste money on research to “align” seasons, spend money to hire more COs so enforcement can take place during gun season.
