As an individual that supports the protection and growth of biodiversity of the boreal forest, I understand the balance of integrating sustainable wildlife populations within the current management of our natural resources. Caribou population research in Ontario has been underfunded, over looked and in my opinion left unknown. In 2009 the caribou conservation plan was initiated and has been applied ever since. Due to the lack of knowledge surrounding the genetic trends of caribou populations in Ontario, the conservation agreement may be very beneficial to understand the sustenance of the species. Re-evaluating the status and the impact of our conservation plan is only reasonable to address the impact we are truly having on the species. I support the conservation agreement.
