The proposed approach to considering the addition of new lands into the greenbelt is reasonable over all, and the additional of new lands including the 13 new urban river valleys is welcomed. However, there is one thing that should be reconsidered - the exclusion of private lands. Many of these areas are already highly privatized, and in order to achieve true protection for these river valley lands there need to be protections and connectivity for all lands, not simply the public land. Private lands along river valleys should be added to the greenbelt to ensure connectivity.
