What is the cost of taking pollution out of the air? The oil indusrty has been subsidized for a hundred years by being given no carbon tax. The pollution comes at an environmental cost which should be paid. Electric vehicles are cheaper to fuel and have many other advantages such as fewer parts to maintain. A $14,000 rebate should be given towards cars that do not pollute the air at the cost of those which do and companies that do because it will expedite the inevitable transition to electric vehicles and prevents tonnes upon tonnes of additional air pollution. Taxing companies which cause environmental harm is much more forward thinking and when done at the government level can make significant change. Conversely, letting polluters pollute cheaply will cause significant environmental and health harm.

Please do the right thing for the province of Ontario, the environment and set an example for other leaders of this planet by bringing back Cap and Trade.
