I have attached a letter requesting a modification to Map 1A of the OP.
The request is to change the Agricultural designation of approx. 5 hectares of Greenbelt lands outside of natural features and their buffers along the edge of Block 62 within the City of Vaughan to a Rural Designation.
Once development within the Block occurs, the lands will be too small and isolated for agricultural use and can be added to public park areas if they are designated as Rural in the Region's OP. The ability to shift parkland to these areas will free up other lands within the Block for housing.
The request is consistent with Rural designations applied to other valley corridors within Markham and Vaughan in the 2022 OP which were previously shown as Agricultural in the 2010 OP.
